1/3. Life on the earth is sustained by God through Noah.

Genesis 7:22-23    All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died. And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.

Genesis 8:1-2    And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters assuaged;

The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained;

13-17    And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry.

And in the second month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, was the earth dried.

And God spake unto Noah, saying,    Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons' wives with thee.  Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth.

And God promised this to Noah:

Genesis 7:22    While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

The faithfulness of God to perform HIS Word is seen by us daily as we witness a new sun each day in the sky.

And we can know by the Bible that the end will not come by the will of man.

Jesus said, concerning the end of this world:

Matthew 24:6-8    And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.  For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.   All these are the beginning of sorrows.

The end of this present heaven and earth will come by God and not by that which man can do.

Even this should comfort us for God is in control.

But there is an end ordained by God when the wrath of God comes upon this earth to judge the wickedness of man for God is a just God.

God showed the apostle John a vision of the end of this world.

Revelation 8:6-13    And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.

The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.

And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.

And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;  And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.

And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.

13 And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!

As we can see by the above, God, and not man, is in control.  (lightning, hail, a mountain erupting and sliding into the waters, a star falling from heaven, 1/3 more darkness with less sun, stars, moon)

No man can cause these things to come upon the earth.

If they are then caused by God, how can we fear man?  Fear God and follow HIM, hearing HIS Word and obeying what God says.

Revelation 16:4-7     And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood. And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus. For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and THOU hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.

(They are worthy to drink blood.)

And I heard another out of the altar say,   Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are THY judgments.
