Book Description:

When we think of king Solomon, we think of one thing:  Wisdom

In the Book of Proverbs, Solomon continually urges us to seek wisdom from God.

1:7   The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

God says:

1:33   But whoso hearkeneth unto ME shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

2:6-8   For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of HIS mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. HE (God) layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: HE is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. HE (God) keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.

3:5-7    Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge HIM (God), and HE shall direct thy paths.  Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

3:13-15   Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.

And in the New Testament, we have the following promise concerning obtaining wisdom:

James 1:5    If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

What a wonderful spiritual adventure we have in store for us in reading this volume of books concerning king Solomon.

And what a grand foundation this is for seeking wisdom from God and in knowing that God's wisdom is all that really matters in this present life.

If we have God's wisdom in the matter at hand, we have everything, and it is far better than rubies, and it is better than anything we can desire on this earth!
