Book Description:

Joshua turned to God continually for instructions in the way to go that he might overcome the enemies and give the promised land to the children of God.

The amazing thing is this:  God promises us that HE will give us good success in all that we do if
only we will meditate in the Word HE gives us and follow HIM by His Spirit that HE has given to us.

The assignment of that land to be possessed by Joshua differed from our land, but the principles Joshua followed are the same as they are for us to overcome in the current wilderness of today's way of life.

We see how to overcome as Joshua did as follows:

Joshua 1:5-9   There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.

Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper withersoever thou goest.

(We do not do the "law of Moses" in the NT church but we do the word of God, especially in the new testament Bible.)

8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

Isn't it God who told us to do that which we are doing?  If so, how can we lose?

Joshua was a great man of God because he "wholly" followed that which God said to do.

And Joshua said these wonderful words:

Joshua 24:14-15   Now therefore fear the Lord, and serve HIM in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the Lord.

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

People may try to bring evil things into our houses,  but when it is our house, we control that which comes into our house.

My neighbor asked me if he could rent a spare bedroom to use for their wedding anniversary.  He needed a place for his wife's daughter and her friend to stay.  I told him I would not rent it but he could use it.  Then I was reminded by the Holy Spirit of "the friend."  And I asked, "What about this friend?"  He then told me his wife's daughter was a lesbian and the friend was her lover. I told him I could not have this in my house but if he had a married couple, they could stay there.  He then said he didn't approve of the lesbians either.  But I never heard from him or his wife again and he died a couple of years after this.

Concerning homosexuals and lesbians:

Romans 1:26-27   For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

The New Testament Bible is our rule book.  We keep specific scriptures before us day and night and think on those instructions and do them and then we prosper and have good success in all that we do, just as Joshua did.

Build yourselves in the faith through these examples of Joshua.
