Vol. 11/1 Preface

The people of the church sinned and often God sent a prophet to bring them correction so they would have additional opportunity to turn from their sins.

Many times, the people killed the prophet who was sent to them by God.

Killing that prophet did not stop the message.

And God often sent pronouncement of a penalty by HIS prophet.

Killing that prophet did not stop the penalty.

When the people heeded the warning given by the prophet and when they made appropriate corrections to their lives, they returned to God and walked again in HIS blessings.

The warnings given by the Old Testament prophets often apply to the people today in the New Testament church for the people today often stray off the highway set by God and follow other spirits which take them in a way opposite from the Spirit of God.

Prophets always try to turn the people to God and make a people who are prepared for the coming of the Lord.

We see the work of the New Testament prophet as we view the works of the prophets of the Old Testament.

Prophets are sent to the church to turn the church back to God.  But usually the church fights against the prophet and the word sent by God.  As we see by the examples in Isaiah and Jeremiah in this writing.
